• Slow Pitch Registration 2012 Season
  Media Area Girls Softball is currently holding registration for the slow pitch division. Players can register through February 28th 2012. The slow pitch division offers the opportunity for girls of all skill levels to have fun, while participating as part of a team and is open to all girls in Media and the surrounding communities. Girls are eligible to stay on the same team as the previous year if they are staying in the same division:
  
•    Clinic (Kindergarten and 1st grade)
•    Junior Division (2nd thru 4th grades)
•    Intermediate Division (5th thru 7th grades)
•    Senior Division (8th thru 12th grades)
Team practices will begin in early April. Regular season games will be played from late April until the end of school. No games are played past the end of school.
Registration fees are $65.00 for 1 child, $90.00 for 2 children and $105.00 for 3 or more. A $10.00 late fee will be assessed after February 28, 2012.  Click here for the full announcement and registration form.  If you have trouble printing the PDF file try the word document here.

• Winterball 2012 is coming! 
  Winterball is a softball clinic available to all Media Area girls in 1st thru 5th grades.
  Winterball is a chance to come inside on a cold winter night and work on fielding, throwing, hitting and the fundamentals of the game with high school players and coaches.  Winterball is a time to have fun, play games and think spring.
  
  •    When:      January 27th. February 3rd 10th & 24th.
  •    Time:        7:00 to 8:00 PM (1st & 2nd Grades)
                        8:00 to 9:00 PM (3rd, 4th & 5th Grades)
  •    Where:      Penncrest High School Auxiliary Gym
  •    Registration Fee: $40.00
              All participants will receive a Winterball T-shirt.

• Fast Pitch indoor practices begin 12/2.
  They will be from 6:30 - 8:30 every Friday until April. These practices are for any player 12 and under or 10 and under who would like to play Fast Pitch in the spring or who thinks they may want to play Fast Pitch.
  The practices are a great time to work on fundamentals and improve on the overall game. It is not mandatory to have played fast pitch softball to attend these practices. In fact, it is a good way to get a taste of fast pitch to determine if a player would like to play Fast Pitch next spring. It is also not mandatory for girls to attend every practice, but the practices will help prepare the girls for the Fast Pitch tryouts which occur in February.

• Media Area Girls Softball is looking for new Board members
  We need volunteers to help with the upcoming season.
  At our next board meeting on December 5th, we will be electing the board for 2012 nominations.
  A good number of the current board is made up of volunteers who have been serving this league for a number of years and are leaving.
  We need new blood and new ideas. Please consider stepping up for the girls.
  The November board meeting will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, December 5th at the Media Borough Hall, in the Parlor room.
